ABOUT OUR MASCOT
"Hillel", our mascot, symbolises what we at Hillel are all about.
He is based on the historical Hillel, who was the spiritual leader
of the Jewish people from about 30 BCE to 10 CE, during the
reign of King Herod. Two of his most famous maxims are:
" Be among the disciples of Aaron (the brother of Moses), loving
peace and pursuing peace, loving people and bringing them closer
to Torah "
"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself,
what am I? If not now, when? "
